We look forward to welcoming you to our centre.
We strive to provide a culture of friendship and education, providing all children the opportunity to develop their full potential in a safe and caring environment. All children will be supported in our program regardless of race, religion, ability, gender, or social status.
It is important to reflect the diversity of the Australian society and create an environment where children learn to respect and honour that diversity. Our team has an anti -bias approach that positively supports children's growth of identity, self esteem and critical thinking.
Using our knowledge of child development, our team will create an educational program that is based on the belief that children learn through play and exploration, and in doing so children develop cognitive, physical, creative, emotional and social skills to prepare them for school. Daily, children are given the choice of a wide range of experiences and materials that are age and developmentally appropriate. Experience has shown us that it is important that we offer a combination of unstructured craft activities that are child initiated, and structured craft activities that the teacher initiated. The children are supported in their efforts by a caring team, who structure the learning environment so that each child experiences success.
Our team endeavour to provide a high quality educational program that is tailored to suit each individual child. This is done by being sensitive to each child, and by attempting to inspire, stimulate, motivate and challenge. Families are consulted in forming individual family goals for their child and these goals become the basis of our curriculum
Our learning environment encourages children to develop an awareness of self as an individual and a member of a group. Children are encouraged to develop empathy and equity to others and will have their needs responded to, be given individual attention, listened to and shown respect at all times by our caring team. Encouragement and praise will be given to children for their efforts to promote confidence, to take on challenges and to develop self-esteem and independence.
Children will be encouraged to interact with each other in a socially acceptable manner and to respect the rights of others. Children's behaviour will be managed by providing consistent limits; clear guidelines and using positive guidance so that children can learn to make sensible decisions and choices.
We aim to create a friendly supportive atmosphere where our team and parents are able to interact and communicate .This collaboration with families is paramount in meeting the needs of each individual child and the needs of the families. Families will be encouraged to participate in the centre programme and policy decisions
To support children with additional needs and their families, we seek support from community agencies to assist with programming and resources. It is integral to our philosophy that our team be nurturing, sensitive and committed to the care and overall development of each and every child. To ensure this our centre management is committed to on going professional and personal development for our team
Overall, it is our core philosophy, to develop confident, happy children that are ready and eager to face the challenges of school .
