At President Avenue Child Care Centre we offer a service that aims to provide high quality child care by promoting the physical, social, emotional and cognitive development of young children and by responding to the needs of the family.
We believe that each child comes to the Centre with a different set of experiences, knowledge and interests. We seek to build on the child’s home experience and acknowledge the diverse range of backgrounds and families. The families are valued and their diverse backgrounds are accepted and reflected in our programmes.
We seek to provide a warm, safe, caring, stimulating environment that meets the developmental needs of each child. We seek to know each child, based on observation and interaction and provide experiences that match each child’s unique interests and development.
We believe that play is essential to young children’s learning. We endeavour to meet the needs of children’s natural curiosity by providing opportunities for children to value diversity, to accept and enjoy differences in other people, their customs and themselves.
We believe that language and learning go hand -in -hand - language increases children’s understanding. Mother-tongue language will be fostered alongside the development of skills in English.
We believe that each child has the right to develop a strong sense of trust and self-esteem, dignity as a human being and self-respect. Care and respect for others will be promoted. Each child should have the opportunities and guidance to develop self-discipline and the confidence to make choices, take responsibility and achieve independence.
