The centre caters for children 0-5 years.
Wombat is a community based, non-profit organisation, that is managed by a parent committee. The centre employs qualified and experienced staff and aims to provide quality childcare in a safe, inclusive, caring and stimulating environment. Our family grouped setting provides opportunities for children to develop social skills while encouraging creativity, exploration and investigation across all areas of development.
The annual membership fee is $35 per child or $40 for two or more children.
The cost of childcare is: $8.00 per hour, $7.50 per hour for two or more children attending at the same time. EFTPOS and credit card facilities available ($1 fee applies to all transactions). Cash and cheques accepted.
Bookings
Children can stay for a minimum of 1 hour to all day. Wombat also has a limited number of permanent places available for one or two whole days per week.
Bookings can be made by phoning the centre on 9525 9681 from 8:15am one week before the day required. In quieter months (early in the year), Wombat may be used more than one full day per week. However, in busier times the maximum booking is one full day per week.
Cancellations
Cancellations must be received prior to 8:45am on the day booked, or the full fee will apply. Parents are requested to cancel as soon as possible so we can arrange for children on the waiting list to attend the centre. Please phone the centre anytime or leave a message on the answering machine after hours.
New Children
It is recommended that children attending the centre for the first time be left for a maximum of 2 hours to allow them to gradually adjust to being in care.

A change of clothes for the child and a hat labelled on the inside band
Immunisation record and your child's birth certificate needs to be presented on the first visit. Also parents are required to keep the centre updated on subsequent immunisations
Babies should have a supply of nappies and wipes left for them in their bag. Dummies and bottles should be clearly marked with the child's names using a permanent marking pen
Food: the centre provides a morning tea and afternoon tea snack as well as juice for the children. The centre also provides juice/water for lunch and fruit for morning/afternoon tea. Parents are asked to provide their child with a wholesome lunch (no chips or chocolates please). Wombat has a no peanut policy so please do not bring products containing peanuts into the service.
Morning tea is at 10:30am, lunch at 12 noon and afternoon tea at 2pm. If your child has special dietary needs you will need to supply all of your child's food.
